The Seven Bowls of the Book of Revelation and an Extinction-Level Event
The seven bowls in the Book of Revelation represent the seven last plagues God will send to judge the world in the end times. Seven angels will come out of the Lord’s Temple in Heaven with these last plagues and the Temple will remain closed until the wrath of God is complete. Many of the judgments which came upon ancient Egypt will be repeated, but this time on a larger scale. They represent something close to an extinction-level event.
Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. The Temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the Temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed
– Revelation 15:7-8
The First Bowl Delievers Loathsome Sores
God’s mercy is great and all who repent in this time will be spared the misery of the sores which will inflict many (Exodus 9:9-10, Revelation 16:2).
The Second Bowl will Defile the Sea
The sea turns to blood and everything dies in its water (Exodus 7:17-18, Revelation 16:3).
The Third Bowl Defiles Drinking Water
All rivers and springs will turn to blood because Antichrist sheds the blood of the saints (Exodus 7:19-21, Revelation 16:4-7).
The Fourth Bowl is an Unstable Sun
The sun will superheat, resulting in humanity being scorched with fire. Scientists have considered the possibility of such damage from a gamma-ray burst from an exploding supernova, from the WR104 star.
The Fifth Bowl will bring Darkness
The Antichrist Kingdom will be in darkness and mankind will seethe in pain (Exodus 10:21-23, Revelation 16:10-11).
The Sixth Bowl will Dry the River Euphrates
The dragon, the False Prophet and the Beast will draw their army to war against Israel at Armageddon. This army will cross the dry riverbeds of the region (Revelation 16:12-16).
The Seventh Bowl is the Severest Earthquake in History
Jerusalem will be divided into three parts and the cities of the world will collapse. Hail will fall from Heaven (Revelation 16:17-21).
Salvation from the Tribulation
Jesus promises it’s possible to escape living through these catastrophic events by placing our faith in His saving power. The Lord said, “Pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man” and, “because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly” (Luke 21:36, Revelation 3:10-11).
For eight years I have been studying the end times and the result is the book: The End Times, the Book of Revelation by Paul Backholer and its prequel, Heaven, Paradise is Real.
