Declaration

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce all addiction over my life, my family and all those under my influence. I shatter the power of alcohol, drugs, smoking, lust, obesity, pornography, perverse entertainment, redundant prescription drugs, consumerism, over-eating, social media, laziness, ____________ and lukewarmness, and all ungodly behaviours and addictions, in Jesus’ name.

I declare I will not be a slave to addiction in the powerful name of God my Father, because my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and it belongs to the Lord, and I submit it to Him.

I expel all spirits of addiction in Jesus’ name and I nullify all your plans for me and my family. I command you to flee immediately and without resistance. I declare addiction is defeated by Jesus and retains no place or power in, or over me, and my family.

Holy Spirit, I ask You to fill me with the power of Jesus to act with self-control. I also choose the path of holiness because self-control represents the fruit of the Spirit of Christ. I declare Jesus is my Lord and Saviour, and my body is God’s temple, Amen.

Biblical Confession

1 Corinthians 6:12-20

All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord and the Lord for the body…he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
