The Dictator’s Lies of Peace
‘Since March 1936, the Western democracies have done everything in their power to avoid a clash with the dictators,’ declared Rees Howells. ‘Meanwhile, the dictators under a cloak of National Revival in their countries have been scheming and planning among themselves to dominate the world by force and bloodshed.’
‘History will show that the College stood firmly with the Prime Minister in 1938, when he was inspired to go direct to Hitler, and avert a European War… When some people blamed the Prime Minister for flying to Germany, saying that by taking things into his own hands, he had broken every law of diplomacy, the Premier’s answer was: “I am a man of peace, and war to me is a nightmare.” There was no other way to avert war, and save millions of lives, and he would follow the same course again.’
Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords” ’
– Ezekiel 38:2-4
On 1 September 1939, Adolf Hitler hurled this defiance at the world, “As a National Socialist and a German soldier I enter upon this struggle (war with Poland) with a stout heart…. One word I have never learned: that is, surrender. I have once more put on that coat that was the most sacred and dear to me. I will not take it off again until victory is secured or I will not survive the outcome.”
Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep”
– John 10:10
British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in his broadcast to the German People on 4 September 1939, said, “I regret to have to say it – that nobody in this country any longer places any trust in your leader’s word. He gave his word that he would respect the Locarno Treaty; he broke it.” In March 1936, Adolf Hitler sent his soldiers into the Rhineland, a demilitarised zone and broke the Locarno Treaty which had been signed at the end of World War I (1914-1918).
Neville Chamberlain continued, “He gave his word that he neither wished nor intended to annex Austria; he broke it (12 March 1938). He declared that he would not incorporate the Czechs in the Reich; he did so (29 September 1938 and invaded on 15 March 1939). He gave his word after Munich (30 September 1938) that he had no further territorial demands in Europe; he broke it. He gave his word that he wanted no Polish provinces; he broke it (he annexed a number of provinces in October 1938, making what became known as the Danzig Corridor or the Polish Corridor). He has sworn to you for years (views made public since the mid-1920s) that he was the mortal enemy of Bolshevism (Communism); he is now its ally (23 August 1939, with the Hitler-Stalin Pact). Can you wonder his word is, for us, not worth the paper it is written on?” ‘Peace in our time!’
Jesus said, “You are of your father the Devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it”
– John 8:44
Neville Chamberlain concluded, “In this war we are not fighting against you, the German people, for whom we have no bitter feeling, but against a tyrannous and forsworn régime which has betrayed not only its own people but the whole of Western civilisation and all that you and we hold dear. May God defend the right.”
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence
– Titus 2:1-2
Neville Chamberlain had previously said, “There is hardly anything that I would not sacrifice for Peace, but one thing I must, except, that is the liberty that we have enjoyed for hundreds of years, and which we will not surrender,” and the whole of the British Empire stood behind him by saying, “Hitler’s Peace we unitedly reject.”
Rees Howells in 1939 wrote: ‘God also predicted beforehand through the College, that He will not surrender Protestant Germany, the land of the Reformation, to Hitlerism (the Antichrist). So, if Hitler says that he will die before he will surrender, the Allies that they will not surrender, and God says that He will not surrender, this war is going to be a fight to a finish – “the survival of the fittest.” ’
And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord
– Ezekiel 39:6
It was on 12 September 1939 that Prime Minister made it known to the world that “this country can never again accept terms of peace coming from Hitler or the Nazi régime.”
Rees Howells wrote: ‘After a month of hostilities, when the offer of peace came (October 1939), the world waited and watched to see whether the Prime Minister would go back on his word or not. Thousands of leaflets were published by the “Peace Pledge Union,” calling for peace and a conference. But, because of the prediction of “the downfall of Hitler and the Nazi regime,” the College was bound to stand with the Prime Minister in stating that the war must be continued “until Hitlerism is overthrown.” …The College was confident that God guided Britain and France to refuse Hitler’s peace proposal; even though, like so many more, the College had much to lose by the continuance of war.’
Behold, the name of the Lord comes from afar, burning with His anger, and His burden is heavy; His lips are full of indignation and His tongue like a devouring fire. His breath is like an overflowing stream, which reaches up to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of futility; and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err
– Isaiah 30:27-28
