Set Yourself up for Blessing: Start believing God’s Word, not your Feelings

Every act of obedience towards God is one step closer to the plans He has for you. Each time you walk forward into His will, you set yourself in the position to receive His blessing. This is why Satan has tarnished obedience with negativity. Satan asks, “What will you lose if you obey?” because he sees the blessing ahead and doesn’t want you to receive.

If Satan can control your thinking, he can control large parts of your life. This is why the battle raging in your thought-life is powerful. It determines your destiny.

The Israelites walked through a parted Red Sea to escape slavery in Egypt. Instead of thinking of the miracles and promises of God, they focused on the problems ahead. Each struggle ahead became a reason to stop believing.

The Israelites saw themselves as small, inferior and weak. Joshua and Caleb knew God was on their side. Victory was the only option in their minds and they entered in. But an entire generation of liberated slaves never entered the Promised Land – which was theirs for the taking – because their feelings said, “We can’t do it. They’re too strong for us.”

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God

– Deuteronomy 28:1-2

Start believing God’s Word and not your feelings. Forget what your feelings are saying; what does the inspired Word of God say? Obedience is the path to the Promised Land in your life. Jesus told us His burden is light, by comparison to Satan’s plans. He told us He’s the Good Shepherd. Change your thoughts on obedience. It’s the power of God to take you into the Promised Land.
