How to get out of debt Are you a slave to money, or are you God's steward? When in debt you do not have freedom to obey God's voice. Can you give to missions? Can you help others? Freedom from debt is a necessary, and until you are there, God will be limited in how He can make you a financial blessing to the Kingdom of God. Plan to get out of debt Most of us in the West have lost a reference point between what is our need, or our wants. Our basic needs are food and water, clothes, a home, travel expenses, and money for education. From 1970's onward people began to include TV, radio, entertainment, eating out as a basic needs as well. Our wants are clearly things we do not need, a new car, an expensive holiday abroad, new jewellery and expensive brand name clothes etc. ‘Do not love the world, nor the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.’ 1 John 2:15-16. Next - trigger happy? Go |
